Both the instructor's and the students' efforts are important to maximize
the students' progress and performance.
Learning to play the piano is impossible without much actual playing. This
requires significant effort on the part of the student and daily practice.
The student will progress only to the extent that he or she practices and
practices well.
Thus, the student needs to be eager to learn and make every effort to improve
his/her performance.
For children, family support is necessary. Parents should support them
by attending/watching their practicing, encouraging them and giving advice
to improve their playing skills. They need to keep encouraging their children
by practicing, listening and playing together until consistent practice
becomes their daily habit.
Constant communication among the instructor, students and parents is vital
to develop trusting relationships and to maximize the student’s musical
progress.
